1. Terms of Service

Who can use YBF

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By signing up, you confirm the information you provide is accurate and that the account belongs to you.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity that happens under your account. Let us know right away if you think someone else has accessed it.

Acceptable use

YBF exists to help women build genuine friendships. You agree not to:

Harass, threaten, or abuse other members
Impersonate another person or create a false identity
Use YBF to sell, solicit, or advertise without permission
Post content that is hateful, sexually explicit, or promotes violence
Attempt to access another member's account or private data
Scrape, copy, or misuse content or member data from the platform

We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms, at our discretion, to keep the community safe.

Content you post

You keep ownership of what you post (profile info, messages, community posts, photos). By posting, you give YBF permission to display that content within the app so the service can function — for example, showing your profile to your matches.

No guarantee of matches or outcomes

YBF provides a platform for connection, but we can't guarantee you'll be matched with anyone in particular, that a match will lead to friendship, or that other members' conduct will always meet these Terms. Use good judgment when meeting anyone in person.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we believe pose a risk to the community.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as YBF grows. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continuing to use YBF after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

2. Privacy Policy

What we collect

Account info: your email address and password (securely stored, never visible to us or other members in plain text)
Profile info: name, age, location, bio, photo, and your friendship questionnaire answers
Content: messages you send, community posts and comments, and groups you create or join

How we use it

To create your account and show your profile to potential matches
To calculate compatibility and suggest matches
To deliver messages between you and other members
To send you account-related emails, like sign-up confirmation or new-message notifications
To keep the community safe (for example, enforcing blocks and reviewing reports)

Who can see your information

Your profile (name, age, bio, photo, and the kind of friendship you're looking for) is visible to other logged-in YBF members so matching can work. Messages you send are only visible to you and the person you're messaging. Community and group posts are visible to other logged-in members unless you post anonymously, in which case your name is hidden from other members.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored with Supabase, a secure database provider, using industry-standard practices including encrypted connections and access controls that restrict each member's ability to see only what they're permitted to see.

Your choices

You can edit or delete your profile information at any time
You can block another member, which prevents them from messaging you
You can request that your account and associated data be deleted by contacting us (see below)

Cookies and analytics

YBF may use basic, privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the app is used (like which pages are visited) so we can improve it. We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or third parties.

3. Community Safety

YBF is meant to be a warm, safe space. If a member makes you uncomfortable, you can block them at any time from within a conversation, and blocked members cannot message you again. If you experience harassment, abuse, or unsafe behavior, please report it to us using the contact info below — include as much detail as you're comfortable sharing (screenshots help).

As with any platform where you connect with new people, please use care when deciding to meet someone in person: meet in public places, tell a friend or family member where you're going, and trust your instincts.
